About

Designing Sound as Structure

Based in Los Angeles. Available for curated engagements.

Docta Wasabi approaches music as architecture. Sets aren’t collections of tracks. They’re spatial compositions built on tension, repetition, and controlled release.

Each performance unfolds deliberately. Rhythms layer. Textures evolve. Silence defines scale.

The Wabi-Sabi Sessions explore imperfection, atmosphere, and flow, favoring depth over spectacle. Influences span deep house, melodic techno, progressive trance, tribal beats, ritual bass, liquid dnb, disco and funk, shaped for rooms where presence matters more than volume.

Technology is incorporated selectively, expanding compositional range while preserving live intention and human pacing.

The Journey

Music was never a career plan. It started in high school, recording radio mixtapes for friends. By college it became a deeper search: house, techno, trance, jazz, soul. Music that could change the temperature of a room without asking permission.

Los Angeles sharpened the instinct. Late-night experimentation turned into discipline. Listening refined. Selection became structure. Production became practice.

Bedroom sessions grew into rooftop gatherings. Rooftops into club nights. Club nights into private events across continents, weddings to Burning Man, each demanding a different sensitivity, strengthening curation, technical precision, and the ability to read a room in real time.

Somewhere along the way the focus shifted. It stopped being about playing tracks. It became about shaping atmosphere, holding tension, and releasing it at exactly the right moment.

Now based in Los Angeles, Docta Wasabi creates original productions and curates immersive sound environments for people who notice the details. Every set is architecture, built to be felt, not just heard.

The Process

1
Conversation

We start with your vision. What’s the space? Who’s in the room? What should they feel?

2
Curation

A sonic palette is designed for your specific event: genre, energy arc, and key moments mapped in advance.

3
Preparation

Technical requirements confirmed. Equipment specified. Set architecture drafted and refined.

4
Performance

Live reading of the room. The prepared architecture adapts in real time to the energy of the moment.

5
Follow-Up

Post-event recording delivered. Feedback gathered. Relationship maintained for future experiences.
